Over the years, the Aspire Academy & Tuition Centre has achieved exceptional and successful outcomes for learners who have attended Aspire. Achieving over 97% success. Not including our success in advocacy and parent support.
Aspire has a solid professional teaching foundation and experience. We use this experience to drive Aspire's concepts in Education and training forward to achieve outcomes with bigger far-reaching (SMARTER) goals to improve our provision.
The Aspire Academy & Tuition Centre was established in 2013 by Hamzah Muhammad, who by the age of 13 had achieved his O’Levels at Twyford High School. Hamzah holds a PGCE Certificate in Education from Greenwich University and lectured in the Maths and Health and Social Care department for The Ealing Hammersmith and West London College for 16 years, but Hamzah has been teaching, running projects and businesses for much longer. He has always worked in the creative field, including some onstage and touring performances. Hamzah has also mentored many students to achieve at University.
The Aspire Academy & Tuition Ltd was incorporated on 9th April 2016 as a company limited by guarantee and as a registered charity on 31st October 2017.
The Aspire Academy & Tuition and its amazing team of volunteer trustees and facilitators are set up to provide educational help and support in all aspects of teaching and learning specialising in English, mathematics and science.
We are able to teach any age group but focus mainly on age groups 8 to 18-year-old, KS2 to A Levels (Inc college), we also support university students in need of mentoring and study skills support. We believe excellent tuition should be available to everyone, especially to disadvantaged groups and families.
We realised from our teaching seeking to find ways to maximise teaching and learning, by using a range of tried and tested innovative drills, as part of the pedagogy that we believe affects learning, at different stages, regardless of subjects, are what we call the 3Rs (Review, Repeat, Recall) or (Redo, Remember, Respond) or (Re-act, Re-late, Re-turn). We want all our teachers to adopt and apply the 3Rs in their lessons. When a teacher asks, "Do you remember...?" Or "Do you recall...?". The last session is Repeated or Remembered. The activities are Recalled and the last session Reviewed.
We can get learners to Re-enact or Refine an activity to ensure learning has taken place so that the next phase of learning can be added on. A topic must make sense to our (the type of learners that we get) learners so that they, can learn it and there should be no time constraint, although the process of learning can be speeded up if mnemonics are used.
The Aspire Academy recognises that there are many reasons why a learner may be failing or falling behind. Schools and colleges may not be equipped enough to deal with some types of learning difficulties, such as dyscalculia or some spectrum of dyslexia. One of the factors can be large classes that may not suit every type of learner, time or mode of learning. With small manageable classes, the academy is best positioned to provide supportive learning to help learners with a range of difficulties.
We see recognition as an achievement in our work to provide only the best for learners and to contribute to teaching and learning. The Aspire Academy & Tuition Centre has been awarded a Quality Mark by the London Borough of Ealing Council for Out Of School Setting, a registered member with the National Resources Centre for Supplementary Education (NRCSE) and Ofsted Registered. We are a registered member of Young Ealing Foundation.
We are a UCAS registered centre and we work in partnership with West Thames College's work experience programme as a provider. We are in partnership with the Education and Training Foundation (ETF), Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programmes as part of our Ambassador Initiative.
